The genesis of Mission Passport began with a visit to Thailand, and it is here that our journey into unique cultures begins.

Thailand lies in the heart of Southeast Asia, approximately equidistant between India and China. It shares borders with Myanmar to the west and north, Lao P.D.R. to the north and northeast, Cambodia to the east and Malaysia to the south. Thailand is located in the humid tropics and remains hot throughout the year.

With a population of over 60 million, Thailand has been a migratory crossroads, with ethnic Thais forming the majority, while people of Mon, Khmer, Burmese, Lao, Malay, Indian and most strongly, Chinese produce a degree of ethnic.

This country is a predominantly Buddhist nation, with over 93% professing to be Buddhist. Some 4% of the population are Muslim, and 1% Christian. Thailand is tolerant of other religions and among his other roles, the king is protector of all religions.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is the ninth king of the Chakri Dynasty. Born in 1927, in Cambridge, Massachusetts USA, where his father, Prince Mahidol of Songkhla was studying medicine at Harvard University, H.M. King Bhumibol ascended the throne in 1946 and is already the longest reigning Thai monarch.

There are up to 2.8 million prostitutes working in Thailand, the majority in Bangkok and others distributed throughout the country. In the city of Pattaya, where the vision for Mission Passport began its foundation, of the population of 70,000, there are some 20,000 prostitutes.

Mission Passport partners with 4 missions organizations in Thailand.
